Tipperary man stabbed nearly 40 times but injuries are not life threatening

The 22-year-old man was attacked in the early hours of Friday morning. No arrests have yet been made.

A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Clonmel was stabbed nearly 40 times in the early hours of Friday morning but his injuries are not life threatening.

The incident took place in the car park of an apartment block near the Gashouse Bridge in Clonmel, Co Tipperary at around 5am on Friday morning.

The victim was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital and gardaí say his injuries are not life threatening.

The scene of the crime was sealed off and examined by a garda forensic team.

No arrests have been made and gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.
