Man dies after being struck by car in Tipperary

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them.

A YOUNG MAN has died after being struck by a car in Tipperary last night.

The 23-year-old was hit by the car on the N24, Limerick to Waterford road at Ballykisteen at 8pm.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem is due to take place.

No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

The road is currently closed to facilitate forensic collision investigators and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, particularly those travelling on that stretch of road yesterday evening, to contact them at Tipperary Garda Station on 062 80670, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any garda station.
