Critically injured toddler: Man faces attempted murder charge

The two-year-old girl remains in a critical condition

A 24-YEAR-OLD man is due to appear before court in Newry this morning, charged with the attempted murder of two-year-old girl.

The child remains in a critical condition following the alleged attack in the Bessbrook area of the town on Sunday.

The man was arrested after police were called to a house in Charlemont Square East.

The man was charged by the PSNI last night.

He’s due to appear before Banbridge Magistrates Court, sitting in Newry.
