Tony Robbins plans €25k donation to Cork's homeless in unique fundraising drive

“It’s particularly welcome at this time of year,” a spokesperson for Cork Simon said.

LEADING BUSINESS AND performance coach Tony Robbins plans to give €25,000 to the Cork Simon Community as part of a fundraising drive described as “unique” by the charity.

The motivational speaker is appealing to audience members who attended the Pendulum Summit at Dublin’s 3Arena last week to get involved – and to match his donation, with the hope of raising €50k.

A spokesperson for the charity said they were “delighted” with the effort, adding that they could provide three meals a day for 100 days for 50 people with the funds raised.

Robbins, who headlined last week’s Dublin event, will match the donations from audience members and members of the public up to €25k, the spokesperson said.

€4 donations can be made via text message, by texting CorkSimon to 50300, and you can also donate as much as you like online at a dedicated section of the website.

Robbins plans to tweet details of the drive to his near-three million followers this weekend.

“It’s particularly welcome at this time of year,” Simon’s spokesperson said.

It’s the first time the charity’s been involved in an initiative of this kind.

The world’s most successful performance coach, Robbins has worked with former US president Bill Clinton and tennis icon Serena Williams over his career, and has sold millions of books and seminar tickets.
