The Late Late is venturing out of Dublin 4 to find future Toy Show stars

The programme will be holding auditions around the country ahead of the Late Late Toy Show.

THE WAY THAT guests for the Late Late Toy Show are recruited is set to undergo a change this year.

This year the programme will be heading away from its Dublin base to recruit children to appear.

Previously, auditions were confined to RTÉ’s Dublin studio.

This year children will be invited along to locations in Cork, Athlone and Sligo to try out for a place on the programme.

Speaking about the move, host Ryan Tubridy, said, “As everyone knows the kids are the stars of the Toy Show. This country is jam-packed with young talent and this year we’re casting the net far and wide to make sure the country’s brightest young stars get their chance to shine.”

The show is looking for a variety of performers to be included in the show, including singers, musicians, and anyone with a particular aptitude for less usual types of toys.

“We are always on the look-out for the latest LEGO genius or Rubix Cube expert, but we also love to hear from kids who have interesting hobbies outside the top ten toys,” said the show’s producer Katherine Drohan.

While the auditions will be taking place in more locations, anyone looking to take part is still required to send an audition tape in to RTÉ on either a DVD or USB stick before Monday 5 October.

Auditions will be held in Cork on October 12, in Athlone on October 13 and in Sligo on October 14.

Application forms are available RTÉ’s website here.
