Updated: Roads closed and trains disrupted in two Belfast security alerts

The alert at Finaghy Road North has been declared as an “elaborate hoax”, the other at Ligoniel Road is ongoing.

THE PSNI ANNOUNCED two security alerts in the south Belfast area earlier today.

The first at Ligoniel Road is ongoing and has been closed to traffic. Diversions are in place at the junction of Weavershill Road and Mill Valley Road.

The second security alert at the Finaghy Road North near to Diamond Gardens has now ended.

A suspicious object was examined by the army bomb squad and declared an elaborate hoax.
