Trains from Heuston delayed following Portarlington incident

There are delays at Heuston this evening following a “major incident” on the line at Portarlington in Co Laois.

A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER of trains scheduled to serve Dublin’s Heuston Station this evening have been cancelled following a “serious incident” on the line at Portarlington in Co Laois.

Services to Waterford and to Kildare/Newbridge from Heuston are still operating, as are onward services to the south and southwest.

A bus transfer is in operation, however, between Kildare and Portlaoise/Athlone.

Iarnród Éireann is warning of significant delays, and advising customers to be prepared for heavy demand on the available routes.
