Tralee street reopens after woman with knife barricades herself into a shop

It is believed the woman was carrying the weapon.

A STREET IN Tralee has reopened after a woman barricaded herself into a shop.

The woman carried what gardaí believe is a knife into a halal shop on Castle Street around 4pm. The occupants of the shop left and the woman barricaded herself inside.

Gardaí confirmed to TheJournal.ie that the standoff ended at 8pm this evening when the woman left the shop voluntarily.

Gardaí say that the street has since opened.
