A CZECH MAN who was admitted to A&E after he had his ear bitten off in Dublin has described being caught in a racist attack.

Milan Hosek featured on RTÉ2′s new show Trauma, which looks into the world of trauma and medical emergency in Ireland.

Milan was treated at the Mater Hospital in Dublin after he had his ear bitten off in the attack.

He said that he was attacked by two men who started abusing him and saying things like:

Fucking foreigners in our country.

“I felt really bad when the guy started spitting at me and telling me I’m a foreigner in his country,” said Milan.

He then said that one man urged his companion to “bite” his ear off and they attacked him.

Milan is from the Czech Republic and his wife from Poland and they have lived in Ireland since 2005. They run a bicycle boutique shop called AngelCruisers in Dublin’s city centre.

Joanna said that living in Dublin “has always been racist”.

Broadcaster Ronan Collins also features on the show after he was brought into Beaumont Hospital in need of immediate attention.

Trauma is a four-part series which focuses on four hospitals and the work done by doctors and nurses there in dealing with patients’ trauma.

The first episode airs tonight on RTÉ2 at 9.35pm.
