Can you help gardaí investigating the disappearance 24 years ago of Trevor Deely?

Trevor Deely disappeared after a work Christmas party in Dublin.

GARDAÍ ARE ASKING the public for any information about the disappearance of Trevor Deely ahead of the 24th anniversary of the day he went missing after a work Christmas party in Dublin.

Trevor Deely was a 22-year-old from Naas, Co Kildare and Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 who was 6’1” in height and had short red/brown hair. He was last seen in the early hours of the morning on 8 December 2000.

Gardaí at Pearse Street Garda Station are appealing to the public for any information that could help the investigation.

Trevor was last seen wearing a mustard and brown checked shirt, beige/grey corduroy flared trousers, dark deck shoes with white stripes, and a green padded jacket, and was carrying a large dark blue umbrella with white ACC Bank lettering.

On 7 December 2000, Trevor attended his work Christmas party at the Hilton Hotel in Dublin 2.

After the hotel, he attended Buck Whaley’s nightclub on Leeson Street, which he left between 2.30am and 3.25am in the early hours of the morning on 8 December 2000.

The weather on the night was extremely wet and there was a taxi strike in progress, according to gardaí.

At 3.35am, Trevor called to his place of work at Bank of Ireland, Asset Management Offices, Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2.

CCTV footage at the rear entrance at 3.35am shows an unknown male conversing with Trevor at the back gate.

Gardaí are still looking to identify this male, who they say may have information that could assist the investigation.

Trevor was last sighted on CCTV passing the Bank of Ireland ATM on Haddington Road at 4.14am.

31 seconds later, a male was captured on CCTV walking in the same direction as Trevor.

Gardaí have not been able to confirm if that person is the same one who was seen conversing with Trevor Deely at the rear entrance of his workplace.

After Trevor went missing, gardaí at Harcourt Terrace and Irishtown garda stations launched an investigation.

A review and reinvestigation into his disappearance commenced in Pearse Street Garda Station in May 2016, during the course of which the review team has created and addressed 876 tasks.

Gardaí are appealing for information that could assist the investigation into Trevor’s disappearance.

“Even the smallest piece of information, which may seem insignificant, may assist the investigation,” a garda statement said.

Anyone with information can contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any other garda station.
