Tributes paid to 16-year-old who died after Kildare traffic collision

Dane Loakman was seriously injured in a traffic collision on Monday morning. He died of his injuries last night.

TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN to a teenager who died from injuries sustained in a traffic collision in Sallins, Co Kildare.

He passed away at Beaumont Hospital last night.

Family members and friends of 16-year-old Dane Loakman posted messages of condolences and expressed their shock at the tragic news.

Kildare and District Underage League, where Dane played soccer, said it was with great sadness that they learned of Dane’s passing.

“The League would like to send our heartfelt condolences and we hope that in a small way they help his friends and family through these trying times.”

Sallins Hurling said that it was “with utter shock and sadness that we pass on our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dane Loakman”.

Rest in peace, Dane.

Sallins Celtic also sent their condolences to the Loakman family, who were involved with the club.

[Dane was] a great energetic and well-mannered kid who will be sadly missed and remembered by us all. RIP Little Man.

A funeral will be held for Dane at the The Church of the Guardian Angels this Friday.
