The former head of the ECB is in Dublin - and he's got some fancy bling

Jean Claude Trichet: Frenchman, banker, gadget enthusiast.

THE FORMER PRESIDENT of the ECB Jean-Claude Trichet is in Dublin today.

Trichet either had $399 or $10,000 lying around to get his hands on the smart-watch. Considering his last listed salary at the ECB was €367,000 a year, it could easily have been the latter.

No journalists asked whether it was any use, preferring to focus on other matters, such as a blanket bank guarantee that cost the State billions.
