Young man seriously injured in early-morning assault in Tuam

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses.

A 27-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious condition in hospital following an assault in Galway in the early hours of this morning.

The man received head injuries in an attack at about 2.30am on High Street in Tuam. He was brought to University College Hospital Galway before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Investigating gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them on 093 70840 or on the Confidential Line at 1800 666 111. They also wish to speak to anyone who was in the area between 2am and 3am.
