Man to appear in court over Tuam assault

The victim remains in a serious condition in Beaumont Hospital.

A MAN IN his 20s is due to appear in court this morning in connection with an assault in Tuam, county Galway at the weekend.

The young man will be charged at a special sitting of Galway District Court at 10.30am.

The assault victim remains in a serious condition at Beaumont Hospital. He received injuries to the head during the early Saturday morning attack.

The accused was detained yesterday afternoon in the town.
