Poll: Should Revenue collect the TV licence fee?

It is currently collected by An Post.

A REPORT IN today’s Sunday Business Post says that the government is to consider changing who collects the TV licence fee.

The report states that officials feel the evasion rate of 14.6% could be reduced if people get a TV licence letter from Revenue rather than An Post.

Private firms are also to be considered as potential licence fee collectors.

The report states, however, that there are no plans to dock the licence fee from people’s wages or social welfare payments.
