Poll: Do you restrict your kids from watching certain TV shows?

The Simpsons attracted controversy this week for potential racial stereotyping.

PEPPA PIG, PUFFIN ROCK… What show does your child insist on watching, day in, day out?

Though they may be less likely to actually watch on a traditional television rather than a device, this generation of kids are still watching TV shows in massive numbers.

In fact, half of Irish three year olds watch television for two hours or more a day,  according to a 2016 study by the Arts Council.

This week, long-running US cartoon The Simpsons came under criticism for its depiction of Indian character Apu, with critics saying it had created a problematic stereotype for South Asian Americans.

Even Peppa Pig has come under fire before, for its ‘chronically misled’ depiction of Daddy Pig.

So, tell us: Do you restrict your kids from watching certain TV shows?

Poll Results:

Yes, I do (174)
If it contains something 'adult' (129)
No (32)
I don't know (11)
