Two arrested in Niall Dorr murder inquiry

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Niall Dorr in Dundalk last year.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in connection with an inquiry into the death of 18-year-old Niall Dorr in Dundalk last year.

A man in his 30s and and woman in her 20s were arrested this morning in the Dundlak area and are now being questioned in Dundalk garda station, RTÉ reports.

Dorr died in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in October of last year, after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault, which took place on Castle Road on the northside of the town. It is believed that he was attacked by a group of at least seven people.

Dorr was a champion kickboxer and had come second at the World Kickboxing Championships. On the day he was attacked, he attended an interview to join the Irish Army, having already passed a required fitness test.
