Two arrested over €1.5m cannabis seizure

Two men have been detained as a result of the intelligence-led operation by the Garda National Drugs Unit.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested following a seizure of drugs worth an estimated €1.5 million at a location in Co Meath this afternoon.

The men, aged 47 and 39, were arrested at a house in the Bettystown area at 2.30pm today. They were both in possession of a large quantity of herbal cannabis, believed to have a street value of €1.5 million.

The men are detained at Kells Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
