Two arrested over Sligo drug seizure

Gardaí seized ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of €50,000 in Sligo yesterday.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested following the garda seizure of ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of €50,000.

As part of an ongoing operation to target the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Sligo area, gardaí stopped a car at Drumfin Cross on the N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney yesterday afternoon.

While searching the vehicle, gardaí discovered the tablets and arrested two men aged 20 and 22.

The men are currently being held at Sligo Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
