Two arrests after cannabis seizure worth €400,000

Two men are due to appear before court this morning.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after gardaí seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 in Co Laois.

The cannabis plants were seized at a house in the Rathmiles area of Portarlington in Co Laois at around 11.30pm on Wednesday night.

The haul has a street value of €400,000 subject to analysis, gardaí say.

The two men in garda custody, aged 54 and 34, were arrested at the scene and detained at Portlaoise Garda Station.

They are expected to appear before Nenagh District Court this morning.
