21-year-old dies in two-car collision

The collision took place on the N17 at Ballinacarrow, Ballymote, Sligo.

A 21-YEAR old man has died following a two-car collision in Sligo.

Gardaí at Ballymote, Co Sligo are investigating the fatal road traffic collision in which the young man died. The two-car collision occurred on the N17 at Ballinacarrow, Ballymote at approximately 9am this morning. The two vehicles were occupied by drivers only.

Following the crash, the two men were brought to Sligo General Hospital, where the 21-year-old was in a serious condition. He was later pronounced dead. The other man did not suffer life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed for forensic collision investigations, and diversions are in place.

    I heard on 9am news this morning that a 17 yr old lad who was swimming yesterday evening got into difficulty and was brought to hospital where he passed away. News on 2fm

    A picture of the river, where he got into difficulty please and not the hospital. So other people, can avoid the area and hopefully he’ll recover?

    It happened near the border with Kerry, Tralee is closer than CUH
