Two die in New Year’s Night crash

A MAN AND a woman, both believed to have been in their twenties, have died in a car crash in the early hours of New Year’s Day, when the car they were travelling in hit a fence. The incident happened on the southbound lane of the M1, between junctions 15 and 16, near Milltown in County Louth, at about 4.30am. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The road is closed off and diversions are in place via J16 onto the old N1.
