Two killed in Co Cork car crash

The man and woman were travelling together in one of two cars which collided close to Lissarda this evening.

TWO PEOPLE HAVE died in a two-car collision in Co Cork this evening.

The two cars collided on the N22 close to the village of Lissarda at around 6.25pm.

The female driver and male passenger of one of the vehicles were fatally injured in the crash. The man and woman, both aged in their 60s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two adults and two children travelling in the second car were admitted to hospital but are not believed to have been seriously injured in the collision.

The road is closed at Lissarda for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
