Two men charged over seizure of €2.4 million worth of cannabis

Revenue officers seized the 120kg of cannabis in the Meath area on Tuesday.

TWO MEN HAVE been charged following the seizure of an estimated €2.4 million worth of herbal cannabis earlier this week. 

Revenue officers seized the 120kg of cannabis in the Meath area on Tuesday. 

The seizure was made as part of an intelligence-led joint operation with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. 

All drugs were to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis. 

Two men, both aged in their 50s, were arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a garda station in the Co Meath area. 

The two men have now been charged. They were due to appear before Navan District Court this morning.
