Two men rescued after boat capsizes in Malahide

The alarm was raised after a boat capsized in the Malahide Estuary just after 5pm yesterday evening.

TWO MEN HAD to be rescued yesterday evening after their boat capsized in the Malahide Estuary in north Dublin.

Howth Coast Goard was called into action just after 5pm yesterday evening when members of the public shouted for help, responding to the capsizing of the boat.

Teams from Howth Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Rescue 116 were deployed with the Howth team searching the shoreline and the Rescue 116 team searching the water.

The two men were eventually located by helicopter and winched aboard.

They were treated by Coast Guard medics and later transferred to Dublin Airport where no further hospital treatment was required.
