The two men were armed with a knife and a baseball bat when they robbed the certificates from the NCT centre.

TWO MEN WEARING white boiler suits and Halloween masks stole more than 1,000 NCT certificates from an NCT centre in Newgrange, Drogheda.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon, just after 5.30pm.

Knife and baseball bat

The two men burst in to the centre, with one man wielding a large knife and the other man with a baseball bat.

They threatened staff and customers and demanded to be given the certificates. A total of 1,000 certificates were stolen, said the gardaí. They also took a small amount of cash from the premises, roughly around €200.

Car

The men made their getaway in a blue Ford Focus C-MAX, with a partial registration of 10-D.

There were no injuries and no arrests have been made.

The gardaí are appealing for witnesses or if anyone has any information about the robbery they should contact Drogheda Garda Station.
