Two men shot at pigeon club in Belfast

The incident is reported to have taken place shortly before 4pm today.

TWO MEN HAVE been shot at a homing pigeon club in west Belfast.

The men have been taken to hospital after being shot at the club on Iveagh Street, off the Falls Road.

The incident is reported to have taken place shortly before 4pm today. The PSNI says that the two men received gunshot injuries to their legs and have been taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy is appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who has any information to contact detectives in Musgrave.

Local Sinn Féin councillor Ciaran Beattie told the Belfast Telegraph that the shooting was “totally wrong”.

“It is absolutely reckless to go into a public bar in a busy area of west Belfast in the middle of the afternoon and shoot people.”
