Two Irish women injured in traffic collision in northern France

The incident occurred at the Haie-Tondue interchange along a stretch of motorway.

TWO IRISH WOMEN remain in hospital in France after being seriously injured in a road collision in Beaumont-en-Auge.

Local media have reported that the women were travelling in a vehicle along the A13 motorway on Wednesday when the incident occurred at the Haie-Tondue interchange in Beaumont-en-Auge.

Eight other people were hospitalised and discharged, according to French media outlet Ouest France. It reports that the women are aged 18 and 22.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is are aware of the case and stands ready to provide consular assistance if requested.
