A disguised U2 busked at New York's Grand Central station

Nice cowboy hat, Bono.

WE LIKE TO think that we let U2 go about their business here undisturbed, but have they ever played at a train station for us, eh?

Fans in New York got a bit of a surprise yesterday when the band played a live gig in Grand Central station in New York.

They were there for Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, and videos from the gig show Bono wearing a blue cowboy hat while performing Angel of Harlem.

One tweet even showed the frontman wearing what looked like a blond beard, with the other members all donning wigs.

U2 will appear on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show this coming Friday.

The previous time they were supposed to appear, Bono was replaced by Fallon – and rest of the members by the inimitable house band The Roots – after he injured his arm in a cycling accident.
