UK police investigating Sian O'Callaghan murder still search for second body

Nightclub at which the 22-year-old was last seen alive a week ago plans to reopen tonight.

UK POLICE HAVE BEEN granted extra time to question the 47-year-old man held in connection with the kidnap and murder of Sian O’Callaghan, according to Wiltshire Police.

Meanwhile, officers are continuing their search for a second body and had said yesterday that they were focusing on “a historic case” involving a missing adult from the Wiltshire area.

Police arrested the man, identified locally as taxi driver Christopher Halliwell, on Thursday after police issued an appeal for information regarding a green Toyota Avensis with taxi markings.

The subsequently announced they were searching for two bodies and later found the remains of O’Callaghan near the White Horse chalk site in Uffington, Oxfordshire, about 15 miles from the club she was seen leaving in the early hours of last Saturday.

The nightclub at which O’Callaghan was last seen plans to reopen tonight, a week after the 22-year-old went missing after leaving the premises.

Police said her family had given permission for floral tributes left outside the Suju nightclub to be moved from the doorway.
