Updated: security alert in Antrim neighbourhood called off

Several houses were evacuated in the Donegore Drive area of Antrim this afternoon.

POLICE IN ANTRIM have ended a security alert in the Donegore Drive area following the discovery of a “suspicious object”.

Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO) were tasked with dealing with the object this afternoon and several houses were evacuated.

After attending to the report, ATO declared the device as “nothing untoward”.

Residents have now been allowed to return to their homes.
