US man suspected of decapitating 7-year-old son

Louisiana police say the 30-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of killing his disabled son.

POLICE IN THE US state of Louisiana say they have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of killing and decapitating his disabled son.

The boy was seven years old and his mother is not thought to have been home at the time of his death.

Police chief Scott Silverii said that Jeremiah Lee Wright, 30, had confessed to the killing and he has been charged with first-degree murder.

Silverii said that there was no clear motive for the murder. He added that Wright said he was tired of taking care of the boy, who had to be fed through a tube.

WWL reports that the child’s head was found beside the road yesterday afternoon by a passer-by who alerted police.
