A VAN PARKED on a hill in Cavan caused a minor incident today when it freewheeled down the road – and ended up hitting the front of an office.

Staff were inside the National Driver Licence Service office when the van hit, and the emergency services were called to the scene.

Gardaí said that while no one was seriously injured, a number of people were medically assessed at the scene, with some being brought to hospital.

The incident occurred at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

It is not believed the driver was inside the van at the time.
