Viable explosive device made safe in Finglas

The device was made safe just before 2am this morning in the north Dublin suburb.

A VIABLE IMPROVISED explosive device (IED) was made safe in Finglas, north Dublin last night.

The Defence Forces Army Bomb Disposal Team was deployed to Dunsink Lane in Finglas in the early hours of this morning following a request from Gardaí.

The team arrived on the scene just after midnight and made the device safe through a controlled explosion. The scene was then declared safe at 1.40am.

The Defence Forces said it was the 48th call out for their bomb disposal teams so far this year.
