Two viable explosive devices found in Dublin outhouse

Local residents were evacuated after the two viable devices were found in the Tara Lawn area in Darndale.

AN EXPLOSIVES DISPOSAL team from the Defence Forces has made safe two viable explosive devices in north Dublin.

The devices were discovered in a disused outhouse in the residential Tara Lawn area of Darndale this morning.

A bomb disposal unit arrived on the scene at 11:05am and was able to neutralise the devices without the need for a controlled explosion.

The devices were then removed to a secure military location for further examination.

The remains of the devices will be handed over to Gardaí for their investigation later today.
