Video: Chainsaw-wielding man attacks pub

One man was injured in the incident which was sparked by a breach of the smoking ban.

A MAN HAS been jailed for three years after he launched a chainsaw attack on a pub in Hull, England last August.

Dean Dinnen, 24, had been asked to leave the pub after breaching the smoking ban.

However, he later returned to the bar armed with a petrol-powered chainsaw, which he started up inside the premises, terrifying the pub’s workers and customers:

This is Hull and East Riding reported in August 2011 that one eyewitnesses said someone threw a chair in an effort to block the chainsaw-wielder’s movements – but he simply chopped the chair in half. One man was injured in the attack and required surgery and 21 stitches.

Patrons managed to disarm Dinnen and hold him until police arrived at the scene.

The news site reports today that Dinnen pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon, damaging property and affray, and has been sentenced to three years.
