PHYSICAL FIGHTS broke out in the parliament of the Ukraine yesterday when a heated debate led to scuffles on the floor.

Members from government and opposition parties both tried to take the podium to speak on a debate which was meant to result in the nomination of a new prime minister.

When neither side agreed to give way, MPs began trying to shoulder each other out of the way – leading to a full-on brawl involving over 100 members.

As it happens, world heavyweight boxing champion Vitali Klitschko – an MP who leads the appropriately-named ‘Punch’ party – chose not to take part, and can be seen just after the 1:30 mark watching the scuffles from afar.
