RTE put its new current affairs show head-to-head with TV3′s stalwart Vinnie – but who won in the battle between #vinb and #rte11 according to Twitter?

ALTHOUGH THE GENERAL election only officially kicks off later today, a battle for hearts and minds was launched last night – on TV.

TV3′s current affairs show Tonight With Vincent Browne has been shadow boxing in the late-night slot for some time now. RTE has said that its decision to put a new current affairs show in the 11pm time slot is not necessarily a square-up to Vinnie. The Eleventh Hour has, for now, been described as an extension of the broadcaster’s general election coverage.
