The hiker’s family say they have left a message for him to contact them at the next hostel on his route.

THE FAMILY OF an Irishman missing in France have said they have confirmed that he is safe.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie, Vincent Walsh’s family said they have been able to confirm that he stayed in a hostel last night in France.

They have left a message at the hostel he is expected to stay in tonight, asking him to contact them.

An experienced hiker, Walsh left Ireland recently for France and was planning on walking the famous El Camino de Santiago. His family became concerned when they had not heard from him for over a week and appealed for information on his whereabouts.
