WATCH: Man goes on rampage in stolen JCB

Steven Regan caused havoc in the quiet English village of Church Warsop, ploughing through streets and a graveyard.

A MAN HAS been jailed for four years in the UK after stealing a large JCB, then leaving a trail of destruction through a quiet village as he tried to escape police.

Steven Regan, 34, took the digger from a construction site on July 2. Police helicopter footage then shows him speeding along a main road before ploughing through a gate, hedges and fields, apparently gunning the engine as he went.

He then drives through a graveyard – destroying a number of headstones as he careens off the cemetery path – before rejoining a main road, where traffic comes to a halt as he speeds along. Mr Regan was eventually stopped by a flat tyre near Church Warsop, Nottinghamshire.

The Yorkshire Post reports that he caused €17,000 worth of damage in the graveyard, smashing through a pair of 100-year-old stone gates. The judge said he behaved like a “man possessed”.
