Teen to appear before court after serious assault in Waterford

An 18-year-old man had to receive surgery after the incident.

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court this afternoon, charged in connection with a serious assault that occurred during the week.

Gardaí found an injured man (18) lying on a path on John Street on Wednesday night.

He was removed to University Hospital Waterford, where he underwent surgery.

Two men were arrested on Thursday evening. The second man (19) was released without charge yesterday evening and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
