Man sustains serious head injuries in Waterford assault

Gardaí are appealing for information on the assault.

GARDAÍ IN WATERFORD are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault incident in the city on Monday night.

A 29-year-old man sustained serious head injuries during an incident outside a house at Priory Lawn in the Ballybeg area at around 10.40pm.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford and later transferred to Cork University Hospital where he is continuing to receive treatment.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out, but no arrests have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information in connection with the assault to contact Waterford Garda Station 051-305300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
