Wayne Rooney arrested in US for public intoxication and swearing

Rooney was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority at Dulles International Airport.

FORMER ENGLAND AND Manchester United star Wayne Rooney was arrested last month for being drunk and swearing in public and paid a $25 fine Friday, according to multiple reports today.

Court records obtained by Washington ABC 7 News and The Athletic showed that Rooney was arrested in Loudoun County, Virginia, on 16 December for cursing and intoxication, a misdemeanour for which he was released from custody on his own recognisance before paying the fine and court costs on Friday.

Rooney was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority at Dulles International Airport, which is located in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington.

The former England captain apparently was at the airport after a trip back from Saudi Arabia. He posted a photo of himself on 14 December from Riyadh at an event.

Rooney is serving a two-year UK drink driving ban stemming from a September 2017 arrest in England.

The 33-year-old forward came to the US capital last July, signing with DC United and taking the last-place Major League Soccer club into the playoffs in his first half-season with the squad.

Rooney was the centerpiece of United’s marketing campaign as the team opened a new stadium, the English star saying upon his arrival he looked forward to the challenge and enjoyed the relative anonymity afforded by suburban life in America.

Even if they did stop screwing up, which they wont, they’ve made such a mess of their time in government so far, it’s hard to see any way back for them. We’ll be better-off once they’re gone.

Because all they have done is continue the god-awful policies of the previous government. They show no sign of changing course. We need something different in this country, so the sooner they’re not part of the equation, the better. They’re smug, arrogant, subservient to special interests and the useless overlords in Europe, they ignore the will of the electorate, refuse to engage with the public… do you need more, or is that enough?

Exactly John and there lies the problem with a small island nation on the periphery of a huge economic hub. Our labour, medical and social needs outweigh what we can produce. At least at the moment that is the case. Any and all parties have limited choices. They can tax the general population in various areas to make the taxes seem tolerable. Tax the wealthy to a level they can easily afford. Or increase taxes on multinational businesses to a level that may force them to move elsewhere. Simple mathematics will tell us what taxes bring in against the outlay required to run the various government departments. A realistic mixture of all three above, would be fair but impossible. No rich man wants to pay for free healthcare or education for the less well off. No multinational cares about the problems of it’s host country. Solution? Always take increasing amounts from many…it’s the capitalist way. Socialism is no longer viable. We don’t have enough resources. The Shinners are deluded. Fianna Fail are impotent. Fine Gael/Labour are dead but won’t lie down. We might have to import a government.

There are serious repercussions ahead on the political horizon for Ireland, the next generation are not going to accept a legacy debt because of the incompetence of today’s politicians. This financial ruin that the up coming workers and students will inherit will cause a huge backlash for the architects of this crisis.

there won’t be enough center right votes to form a comfortable government. There will be a stronger opposition ready to vote down any bill that the center right tries to pass. You will need independents (and even they will lose their seats if they back a center right government).

FG are doing the job they always intended to do, screw the people so that massive salaries and pensions continue to be paid to politicians, civil servants, banks and legal/accountants. In an age of austerity, low oil prices and zero inflation they have managed to ensure that the price of everything keeps rising. Some feat!

That’s a strange type of comment. Ask all who were gainfully employed in the “boom” years would they have stopped the good times they had then if they had known the effect of the “crash” of the following years they would say no way. The biggest contributory factors for the end of the boom years were external to the country. Cheaper loan rates of that time can be traced directly to money being made available from German and French banks lending to Irish banks who then lent it on. This could not be stopped by Government in the free market economy that is the EU. Earned money by its nature tends to be spent rather than saved. Hence rising prices hoovered up the purchasing benefit of wage increases. Those who were clever enough to save in the good times could spend more effectively in the bad times. If the banking regulators were blissfully unaware of the impending disaster and governments depended on these regulators for reliable advice then the ordinary person was completely misled.

Kenny meet these families and set up a two day court to place truth on public record. Fitzgerald told them Keane and Coffey were wrong at a meeting in Justice in July last year. She told the Dail Coffey report is to remain on public record. What an insult and abuse towards those five boys and all the stardust families.
