Temperatures set to drop to -3 tonight with widespread frost

TEMPERATURES ARE SET to drop to -3 degrees in some areas tonight with very cold and frosty weather forecast.

Met Eireann says it will be “mostly dry, but scattered wintry showers will affect northern and some eastern coastal regions”.

It’s also warning of some icy patches in places.

Lowest temperatures 0 to -3 C., with a widespread severe frost and with the stiff northerly winds moderating in many places.

Tomorrow will also be cold, but largely dry and sunny with just a few showers in northern coastal counties.

Temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees.
