Temperatures close to 20 degrees today --- but frost forecast before next weekend

We’ll be back to normal October temperatures by Thursday and Friday, with night-time values dropping as low as zero.

TOP TEMPERATURES OF up to 19 degrees are being forecast today, as much of the country continues to experience a period of unseasonably warm weather.

However, Met Éireann says it will turn much cooler as the week progresses, with some frosts expected in the coming days.

The outlook for today is for bright or short sunny spells, but generally it’s set to remain cloudy and misty amid the warm temperatures, with some patches of rain.

Temperatures will return closer to normal for early October by Tuesday, after a rainy day tomorrow — while by Thursday and Friday we’ll be back down to daytime values of between 10 and 13 degrees.

It will stay bright and sunny, but the nights will be cold — dropping to down to zero degrees in some areas.
