Hold on to that brolly. Gusts to reach up to 100km/hr today

There are two weather warnings in place.

TWO WEATHER WARNINGS are in place for Ireland as Met Eireann warns of gale force winds that will batter the coast.

An status orange weather warning is in place for Donegal, Galway and Mayo until 9pm tonight.

Windy weather 

Met Eireann states that strong winds will hit the south and southwest, with gusts expected to reach 85 to 100 km/hr.

The strongest winds will be on exposed coasts and hills.

A status yellow wind warning is in place for Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Mean speeds of 45 to 55 km/hr are expected, with gusts reaching 65 to 85 km/hr in these counties.

The day ahead is to be mild with rain only affecting those in the northeast of the country.

It will be significantly warmer than in recent days with temperatures reaching 11 to 14 degrees.
