Ireland isn't a pretty sight right now

Heavy rain predicted earlier has arrived.

Met Eireann 2

BATTEN DOWN THE hatches. It’s going to be a horrible night out there.

Met Éireann wasn’t lying earlier on when it issued a status yellow weather warning, predicting “intense” rain and strong winds.

That rain has arrived, and has moved across most of the country this evening, bringing gusts of more than 85 km/hr.

The GIF above show it moving swiftly in.

It also won’t go away any time soon. The warning will remain in place until at least midnight tomorrow.

Yuck. It’s probably best to stay inside, and leave this weather to the ducks.
