This is pure distraction, the real news out of Washington is illegal surveillance of the incoming Trump administration without cause and without a warrant, and the removal of the Trump appointed National Security Advisor, who was deliberately targeted in a political hit job by Obama appointed officials. In contrast the fact that foreign diplomats are saying at a Trump hotel of their own volition is not newsworthy.

But it leaves us with the situation that the current presumptive Democratic nominee was complicit in investigating an incoming administration. This is on par with Watergate if you look at the facts with prejudice.

If Obama was still in office, this is an impeachable offense – and if Biden wins, this could be an issue. Democrats should recognize this and rethink the nomination if they had any integrity.
@milton friedman: to suggest that the reason healthcare wasn’t put in the stimulus package because democrats didn’t try is intellectually dishonest. You and I both know major healthcare improvements would have been a deal breaker and you know it. In saying that there are some almost socialist aspects to the whole stimulus package that was passed with bi-partisan support. Care to comment?

The rules do not apply to Trump or his nominees whilst he remains President. It’s just another bit of litigation to add the the many other cases Trump and the Trump organisation are involved in. litigation is just another cost of doing business. His personality dictates that he is always correct & people who disagree with him are wrong, he says he has never met them and doesn’t know them. He doesn’t need to know them : it’s sufficient that he can rubbish them and their message. First it was a an unknown whistleblower, a career diplomat and now a respected scientist. Right out of the Trump playbook from a narcissist who is totally unfit to be President as witnessed by his near hysterical insistence on kick starting “his.”precious economy despite empirical evidence to the contrary.

I’m definitely no Trump fan, but these seems weak, unless the diplomats were some way enticed to stay there I don’t see the case. A much more clear violation would have been when the orange man baby tried to have a G7 summit at a Trump property in Florida.
