Ballet-dancing birds and human traffic cones: 8 weird (and wonderful) pics our readers sent us

Sometimes we are sent really useful news tips and pictures, other times we are sent really weird – but wonderful – things like this.

OVER HERE AT TheJournal.ie headquarters we get sent some really random stuff via email.

Some of it is hilarious. Some of it is heartbreaking.

While more of it is, well, just plain weird.

Since we started doing this post last year, you all copped on and started sending in even more weird sh*te.

So here’s a look at some of the surprises we got when we opened our inboxes over the past seven days.

Kevin Daly says: "I took this photo at the Lough - a suburban lake and nature reserve in Cork City. II Divo are going to play at the nearby Musgrave park next summer. The geese at the Lough are obviously more cultured and arts-oriented. It's all opera and ballet fot us, no closet Garth Brooks fans here."Source: Kevin Daly
  • Cones

From Róisín Fitzgerald: "Human traffic cones/rugby fans making sure the match crowd cross the road safely on Baggot Street Lower!"Source: Roisin Fitzgerald
  • Liscannor

Writing on Friday, Caitriona Diviney said, "The calm before the storm! A beautiful morning in Liscannor Co. Clare. Calm and fresh as the sun rises up over Lahinch before we brace ourselves for more storms later.Source: Caitriona Diviney
  • Gorgeous

  • Snow Buddy

Buddy, here, is just seven-months old and has never seen snow before.
  • Weird bin

"We found this was the only bin in Ireland that kept its lid on during the storms," says Michael Moran. Source: Michael Moran
  • Sugarloaf

  • Hot drink anyone?
