Status Yellow rain warning issued for 10 counties for 24 hours

Highest temperatures today will range between 14 and 17 degrees.

A STATUS YELLOW rain warning is in place for ten counties from tonight until Thursday, with Met Éireann warning of localised flooding in the affected counties.

A Status Yellow rain warning will be in place for Co Kerry from 1am and for Co Cork from 3am, with both in place for 24 hours.

A Status Yellow Rain warning for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Tipperary, and Waterford will kick in from 5am tomorrow for 24 hours.

Met Éireann is warning that heavy spells of persistent rain will lead to localised flooding in all 10 counties.

Today’s forecast

Today will be windy with strong southwest winds reaching gale force on western coasts. Rain and drizzle will clear later this morning leaving a mostly dry but cloudy day. 

Highest temperatures will range between 14 and 17 degrees, and persistent rain will arrive on western coasts later this evening. 

Heavy rain will spread across the country tonight and will persist in the south and east of the country for much of tomorrow. 

There will be a gradual clearance to scattered showers in the north and west, however. 

Highest temperatures tomorrow will range between 14 and 16 degrees in moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, according to Met Éireann.
